Grave for Mama, 2021, pigment print on museum paper, courtesy of the artist

The photograph shows a design of the artist’s mother’s grave – a simple water pond with a stone frame whose surface reacts to the environment. The natural memorial reflects the surroundings, becoming also an invitation for insects and birds. Instead of erecting an ordinary gravestone, Rusicka turns to nature, completing the biological cycle.
