(b. 1983, lives in Bratislava) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava (VšVU). She is an author of watercolour paintings, installations, and objects made using plant and mineral materials. Her works remind us of the broken ties between humans and the world of plants, animals and inanimate matter. Celebrating the richness of nature’s forms and processes, the artist inserts the cycle of human life into the circulation of matter and the flow of energy in nature.

The series was inspired by the story of the origin of the human species. In this story, the artist is interested in the removal of the dominant perspective on the development and the departure of man from the state of “wildness” towards “civilization.” In his mission of evolution, man remains one of the animals. Depicted as a headless body, they are deprived of their unique status in nature.

The artist drew 29 drawings of the same object – a chair – while awaiting the birth of her son. The process of representing a single motif day after day was a kind of mental adjustment to the expected challenges of care work such as grounding, consistency, and repetition.
